CARE OF YOUR HEMP BED LINEN

* Hemp can be washed up to 60°C but 40°C cleans and saves energy

* Spin dry and fold while still damp then put over rails or a line to dry - but don't dry completely if you want to iron.

* The same applies if you want to tumble dry – and many do – shorten the drying time, take out and fold while still a little damp and iron immediately.

* For those lucky enough to have a range cooker the best way to dry your hemp so that it looks almost ironed is to fold when damp and hang on the rail (clean!) in front of the cooker. Cooking is not recommended while the bedlinen is hanging there.

* Iron only as much as you want to. It becomes softer each time it is washed and the desire to iron diminishes!

* Save water! If you use a duvet without a top sheet, each time you change your bedding you wash a duvet cover and bottom sheet and are therefore washing three sheets . Try making it two sheets by using a top sheet with your duvet or blankets on top. There are lovely soft blankets around – Alpaca is divine!
